Introducing Research Overview: Your Strategy Research in One Place

Compare strategy studies, inspect saved backtests, follow validation progress and see what to test next in the new Research Overview.

October 19, 2026

When you have several strategy ideas in progress, knowing where to continue can be harder than running the next backtest. Which study changed recently? Which checks failed? What evidence is still missing?

Research Overview is a new dedicated page for answering those questions. It brings your saved strategy studies, backtest results and research progress into one place, so you can compare investigations and choose the next step.

See your strategy studies together

Each study has its own card, with its market and timeframe, saved backtest results, versions and trials, and research journey. You can review several studies without opening each investigation just to find out where it stands.

Search by study title, filter by symbol or timeframe, and narrow the list by study status or session history. Archived studies remain available through the study-status filter.

Compare results with their context

The Backtest results section shows return, profit factor, maximum drawdown, trades and win rate from a saved trial. By default, the displayed result is the latest successful trial by save time. Testing dates and recorded costs sit beneath the metrics, and Open report takes you to that specific trial.

A study without a completed backtest still has a place in the overview. Its card shows that no result is available yet while keeping its research progress visible.

Sort studies by Recently updated, Validation progress or Backtest return to decide what to inspect next. Validation progress counts required checks passed; return sorting uses the displayed saved backtest. Different periods, costs and settings can affect comparisons, and neither ranking establishes trading readiness.

Follow the research journey

The journey makes three stages visible: Backtest, Validate and Forward testing. Results collected, checks passed and checks failed have distinct indicators, so a completed test is distinguishable from a passing result.

Select a stage to inspect its research checks. The Research gates chips let you focus on open checks, failed checks, checks not yet run, evidence to review or passed checks. Select All to inspect the full list, or select the active chip again to collapse it.

The Next line points to the next research milestone. Refresh reads the current progress, while Versions and trials lets you inspect the saved iterations behind a study. A backtest result and a research reading can refer to different versions or configurations; the underlying records remain the place to check that context.

Start a study with the Algo Agent or MCP

If you have no research studies yet, the overview offers a starting card. Start with Algo Agent opens a fresh conversation in Algo Lab, where you can describe your strategy idea and constraints before submitting a prompt.

Users with MCP access can choose Connect MCP to set up their own AI client. Both paths feed into the saved-study workflow, keeping research available for later review. Opening a conversation does not start a research run. AI actions require available credits, and market-data access depends on your account's integrations.

A quick view from the Hub

The Hub also includes a compact preview of active studies, with links to their research progress and saved reports. Research Overview is the full workspace for filtering studies, comparing results and inspecting research gates.

Explore Research Overview

Open Research Overview to review your studies or start your first investigation. The Research Overview guide walks through the cards, filters, sorting and research gates.

Keep the saved results and the research evidence in view, then choose the next experiment.
